The Dutch duo 16 Bit Lolitas is a well known progressive act. Warung Beach Club is a Brazilian venue which regularly hosts the biggest names from the whole dance scene. One of the most recognized places – of the still quite progressive South America – decided to promote its brand with an album created by the aforementioned duo. ‘Warung Beach 001‘ is supposed to reflect the club’s atmosphere, so let’s check what can be expected from a journey to a Brazilian beach.
CD 1 is very nice compilation of various artists' tracks, and a trip with some warm tech house and melodic progressive carried in a back pack. The Dutchman marked a trail you can walk on smoothly, both with grace and verve. Sometimes you even want to come back to previously passed points to once again have a look at the most interesting landscapes. The vocal tracks ‘Nobody Seems to Care‘ and ‘Distant Bar‘ unfold beautiful and moving views, while the energetic tune ‘Toronto‘ and slightly pensive ‘High Love‘ spur you on for the rest of the journey.
And the rest awaits on CD 2, which unlike its predecessor is made up only from 16 Bit Lolitas' original productions. It’s also mixed, it‘s a little more laidback, but it’s almost just as good. Here the sky, the water and the trees are painted only by progressive, which in exactly half of the tracks sounds really cool but, all in all, the entirety is more like a road that we have been walking on for quite a while.
But no matter how well 16 Bit Lolitas have represented Warung Beach Club’s soul and looks, it’s worth going to the Multimedia section on www.warungclub.com.br to watch some videos. Just to see what kind of a wicked place we’re dealing here with.
