8 best things about The South American Music Conference

The first Music Conference in South America
The event organisers are very passionate about helping to promote the South American Music scene, which makes a refreshing change. There were stands representing local record shops, radio stations and magazines etc and this is an area which will undoubtedly develop as the event grows. The seminars brought together local and international DJs and Music industry professionals to discuss topics such as DJ Agencies, Festivals and Record Labels. They even had headphones for the speakers and delegates so they could listen to translations, so that language was never a barrier.

Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires is a beautiful city with a lot of history, places to visit with numerous shops and restaurants to suit any tastes. There is so much to do, from city tours around all the amazing monuments, learning about Evita and seeing her morceluem, taking a ride on the river Plate or in the Delta or going out to a ranch to learn about the origins of the Gaucho Cowboy. Oh and of course there is eating steak! Yummy! Many of the DJ’s loved it so much they asked for their flights to be changed so they can stay for a few days more.

Misstress Barbara:
‘I really had an amazing time and an amazing set in Buenos Aires at the SAMC. I think it's about time that we bring our music down there. It's a beautiful place and people really like to party and dance and it's just about time that South America gets more included in our DJ travel plans!

The weather
On arrival in Buenos Aires, we were greeted by friendly faces, blue skies and sunshine, which immediately banished the feelings of tiredness. This is far from the mud baths of UK festivals
and you can expect scorching sunshine and clear blue skies with temperatures reaching the mid 30’s with not a cloud in the sky! Are you feeling jealous yet?

The crowd & atmosphere
The people are so friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is amazing in every room. There were so many people but they didn’t seemed to mind being squashed and kept on dancing and jumping all night long.
