The Making of Fear of a Silver Planet vol II | ||
|
...continuation of the article All the tracks included in the set were to be selected from a Silver Planet catalogue, nevertheless 50 records is a wide enough range to be in trouble while picking. What was the key to choose the right ones? Taking advantage of a great chance to self-promote, the Flash Brothers first wanted to introduce their new productions. Yet they haven’t forgotten the latest superb single from Yunus (Indigo Child) nor the famous label classics. As an affect we have been given a whole bunch of tracks, which makes up something like historical outline of Silver Planet. So they chose thirteen tracks, compiled the CDs, and started their work on mixing the album. But, don’t you think, by any chance, three is too much to make one set? For the “three” like them – definitely not! I don’t know of any more coherent producing collective in the world! Each one of them knows what he does best so he does that! They don’t stand in each other’s way. Shmuel is a DJ, so he was the “mixing machine”. Ruven and Ilan had planned the right order of the tracks and the moments of fade-ins and fade-outs - they were like signposts to their younger brother working behind the decks. In spite of all it wasn’t easy to finish their work in a month, as everything took place in August, when the Flash Brothers spent a week for gigs in Asia and a weekend in Hungary. If that wasn’t enough, it turned out that two of previously chosen tracks simply didn’t fit, so they had to modify the project a little. [Previous page] [Next page] |
