The Making of Fear of a Silver Planet vol II | ||
It’s been seven months and I get down to my third article here. Why did it take so long? My two previous texts dole with the biggest music fascinations of the last few years. In the first one I wrote about progressive as of a style in electronic music; about what it’s like and which direction it takes. In the second one I looked to the East, and its prolific artists, whose positive influence to “my” music development is undeniable. Then I was looking for an idea for the third article... though I wasn’t really looking but waiting for the idea to come to me. And there on the horizon appeared a small glimmer of light that sparked the electric signal that traveled from my brain to end at my twitching fingertips. Silver Planet, an independent British record label which celebrates a milestone of fifty releases to date and for this the label is releasing its second edition of the “Fear of a Silver Planet” series. I spoke with the record’s authors in September, during their few days stay in Poland. They only mentioned a few details about work on a secret project being finished and that they didn’t want to give away the whole picture but I was assured that it would be something that everybody would know about. I heard from Ilan a few weeks later, he gave me a link to a record label website, where I found the announcement of a new title. This much was clear – the Flash Brothers are recording a mix CD for Silver Planet! The journey of the Flaishler brothers and Silver Planet has begun from a very successful remix of Rhythm Unlimited’ “Reflections”. After that, there was a live gig in England, one of the guests was David Conway – the record label’s manager. Ilan was not going to let such an opportunity pass him by, so he pushed a CD with three brand new tracks into Dave`s palm. Something’s telling me, that after Dave was back home, his plans to exploit creative resources of Israel within the next few months where ready. This is, in short, a story of the three debut singles called: “The Flight”, “The Call”and “The Ways”, and here is more detailed picture of the compilation. [Next page] |
