Ex-Or - Profile | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
DJ Ex-Or has been spinning records since 1998. He started out in Czestochowa (his hometown) by organising a series of events called “Connection Party”. Over thirty artists from Poland and abroad came to play at the events. DJ Ex-Or has also played at most of Poland’s clubs and has cooperated with a top Irish DJ, Paul Kelly. It was Kelly who offered him the possibility to present his sets at the famous Temple Bar in Dublin. DJ Ex-Or was quickly successful at stirring up parties in a number of clubs in Czestochowa, especially those open to fresh club sounds, gaining fans of his music along the way. He was the first DJ to play progressive in Poland. Looking for new challenges, Ex-Or moved to Krakow, where his sets were enthusiastically welcomed at clubs like Prozak, Roentgen and Ministerstwo. Thanks to his popularity, he was offered a residency at the newly opened NOBAR Club. His employers did not need much time to appreciate his talent and good ideas and quickly offered him the position of artistic manager. With friendly support from a few artistic agencies, Ex-Or had the opportunity to play with a number of significant foreign artists such as Leama (Perfecto Rec.), Andy Moor (Perfecto Rec.), Mike Monday (Whoop Rec.), Santos (Italy), Innate (Baroque Rec.), Martin H, Cutmaster Jay, Hwa Young, Matt Black, Shon Sebastian and Vicky Montefusco. From the very beginning of his musical activity, he has been trying to support other DJs. He not only unites them under Dynamic Sequence but he also organizes events at clubs at which many young DJs have had the opportunity to perform for the first time. Many of these young DJs are doing very well on their own nowadays. Ex-Or openly admits that he admires the work of artists like Satoshi Tomiie, Luke Fair, Infusion, Sander Kleinenberg, Echomen, Gabriel & Dresden, Andre Absolut, Chab, Dousk, Stel, Mike Monday. While playing sets at parties, he tests his latest productions. Most of them are usually well known among his friends and biggest fans as tracks signed by either the duet Janicki & Ex-Or or Thomas Langer, which is his alias. Ex-Or has also performed at the former Radiostacja station. One of his last sets was used for the soundtrack of a movie about the history of club music. From time to time, one can hear his sets on Paweł Bruger’s show on Polish Radio BIS. Nowadays, Ex-Or’s case is filled with electronic house, progressive house, tech house and breaks. Each and every record is chosen carefully in accordance with the vibe of a party. Lately, together with DJ Mjuzik, he had been working on the promotion of his latest original project LOVE in other parts of Poland. So far, LOVE has turned out to be one of the most popular club events in Krakow and has gathered a mass audience every month.
