Kacper Ziemianin

Kacper’s elders took notice of his musical talent and huge potential while he was in still in music kindergarten. A few years later, he graduated from his local school of music as a violinist. In his years at the school, he not only managed to resist the charm of classical music but, thanks to the amounts he had been exposed to, he was also completed put off it. His later period of rebellion was caused by this. Along with a group of friends, Kacper started a black metal band in which he played guitar and wrote most of the music. With time, his teenage fascination with metal started to evolve and shifted towards other musical genres (classical music included). One day, Ziemianin decided to try his hand at making music on a computer. To his surprise, he quickly managed to get the knack of it and what’s more, it was good enough to share with others. The only pitfall was that he was fully aware of the fact that it was difficult to make a name for oneself with such music. But his doesn’t mean that he gave up. After having completed a few tracks, Kacper sent them to the Steim Organization in Amsterdam, which supports young producers of electronic music. To his joy, he qualified as one of the beneficiaries of the organizations scholarship program thanks to which he was able to spend three months at the organization, during which he learned many fascinating things about making and playing music using computer software.

It later turned out that the only obstacle that stood in the way of his further development as a producer was money. It is for this reason that he decided to spend eight months in England working long hours at a restaurant. Thanks to his determination, he managed to save up enough cash to buy the hardware he had been yearning for.

Upon his return to Poland, Kacper fully devoted himself to making music. It was also at this time that he started performing at clubs in Krakow (at the Caryca Club, among others). However, the music he played was far from what clubbers wanted to hear most. His artistic situation changed after he won first prize and a scholarship worth 4500 zl in a contest organized by Polish Television TVP2 entitled “Dolina Kreatywna” for his track “Trans-formation”. This honour mobilized him even further and went a long way in making Kacper believe in his abilities as a producer.

Currently, Kacper plays gigs in Krakow, is constantly working on his new productions and in the future plans on teaming up with a jazz vocalist. His music is difficult to classify, but it is safe to say that it is electronic music coupled with an array of influences. Each and every track is different, which is precisely the reason one should give his music a listen. “I can be placed in the same category as all the other artists that can’t be pigeonholed” is what he says about himself as a producer.

While performing Kacper doesn’t confine himself to just his tunes, he also plays jungle and ragacore.
