The name Baggy Bukaddor might not sound familiar to you, but as soon as you have gone through the first lines of his references there’s no doubt that we’re not talking about a nobody here... The Barcelona grown up, in Cologne Germany living producer, is the first of six children born out of the famous Bukaddor family, which is highly respected and well-known for their influence on music all over Spain. The Bukaddors keep teaching the golden rules of sexy rhythms for ages, and their musical roots are passed on traditionally from father to son generation to generation. It’s not surprising that Baggy Bukaddor´s first steps took place in the Flamenco school of his grandfather, which he later on should take over and become one of Spain´s most famous Flamenco dancers! But at the tender age of 17 years, Baggy made an incisive decision to leave Spain and be the first to break with the family tradition in order to experience the world and to integrate his musical roots into other cultures. His decision of course didn’t find much support in his family but before leaving Spain, Baggy´s father gave him their family’s sanctuary, a special pair of handmade castanets, which have been inherited through all generations of the Bukaddor´s. For three years Baggy travelled through several countries and finally made his way to Germany where he immediately got caught by the thrilling rhythms of house and techno, a feeling that he had missed since he left home. Again being addicted to music, he felt that he has found what he was looking for, and so he spent every hour of the day tweaking up tunes. The track that kicked things off for him was World Clique´s ‘Don´t do it’ on Sounds Good Rec., which was heavily supported over months by tops such as Timo Maas, John Digweed and Paul van Dyk. But also Oakenfold and Tiesto took World Clique tracks by their hand and apart from playing out the tunes, they also included some of their productions on their leading compilations - followed by Slinky, Gatecrasher and Kontor. From now on things developed quite fast for him, he teamed up with famous DJs and soon he saw himself being one of Germany’s most highly acclaimed producers for tech house and progressive music. Together with Oliver Moldan he wrote a whole bunch of tracks for labels such as Germany’s leading Superstar label (‘Elephantgirl’, which reached 11 of the German dance charts & ‘Freefall’), Hope Recordings (‘Cowboy Song’) and Bliss Productions (as Defunction) beside remixes for Fragma, Taucher, Billy Ray Martin and Kolo, just to name a few. But he’s is also the one behind the Mutekki based project Paul Nord, whose single Dog has been licensed to UCMG UK, and the famous Hedgehog-single (including the highly praised and Ministry featured Saeed & Palash Remix), which has conquered the UK by storm and which has been signed by UK’s hot Maelstrom Rec. Jigsaw (together with Oliver Klein) on Timo Maas´ 4twenty imprint, the Gatecrasher featured Wheed Baskin on Maelstrom, Panic In The Street (again with Oliver Klein) on german Silly Spider, being the production partner of Sven Palzer (Electribe, TuneInn, Superfly Rec.) and not to forget his collaborations with Tim Fishbeck are just one of a few projects under the influence of this groove genius, who seems to have the rhythm in his veins! 2003 was the year from which on he planned to more and more focus on his solo abilities, therefore he´s using his beautiful sounding name Baggy Bukaddor and again joined forces with his supporting homebase Mutekki and Electribe. Diverse Bukaddor releases, his V.I.P. clubhit among them, adorn his discography since then. ...and if you listen carefully, you might hear his castanets being included in some of his sexy rhythms.
