 Karina Chaczbabian alias Lady Ka was born in Poland, in 1980. Having professional musicians as parents had it's consequences - her interest in music, goes back to the time, when she was exploring Cairo as a very little girl. Curious of different sounds she - in early 90's, became fascinated with rock and folk from the sixties. Going to Roskilde to pursue that she discovered The Orb and Daft Punk, as well as The Chemical Brothers. Her absolute favorite were however Kraftwerk and Portishead. She jumped into the ibicenco summer in 1999 and fell in love with the world of electronic music …two technics and a pioneer 300….Living in Norway at the time, she put her first vinyl on turntables in clubs around her hometown Kristiansand. One year later she moved to Poland to study economics. It didn't take long before she was playing at clubs as Eskulap, Sonobar, Luzztro, Piekarnia, Metro, Straszny Dwor having residencies and organizing her own KOKTAJL. Always restless, always wanting to do more, every summer she returns to Ibiza. After numerous different jobs she discovered she had a natural talent for selling and started working for Amnesia Ibiza, doing public relations first for Cream, soon her favorite Cocoon and Monza@ Space, later Privilege. In spite of the temporary occupation, she did not give up music and had guest appearances at private parties around Ibiza, also playing at bars like Geminis, Noctambula or Manoa, next to Space.
In 2005 she got her degree in political science. Interesting things were starting to happen on the Polish scene and a wider and better organized cooperation and promotion of modern minimal techno and electro sounds had been born. Together with her friends Qb and Mike P, with support of 3 Channels and SLG, they started Easybooking.
"Contemporary dance music means so much nowadays- we are interested in the deep minimal house crossing through electro to techno. I am happy to say I have such an extraordinary team in Easy"- she says with authentic enthusiasm. Easybooking is a concept. It unites magical and handpicked selection of personalities from the electronic scene of Poland, which in coalition with creativity of the management leads to success- from thought to finish. 2007 is definitely her year. Being a resident at Geminis bar in Puerto de Ibiza every Friday she was also invited to play for What’s Up @ the terrace of Amnesia, Ibiza. Voted for Worlds Best Club 2006 at Miami Winter Conference it’s a milestone in her career and a dream come true. A true pleasure Ibiza season 07 is finished and the winter approaching with new projects, ideas and challenges. Moving to Barcelona Lady Ka will work with Monza @ Catwalk amongst others. Her music style undergoes a constant change.... Why concentrate on "minimal" or "deep house" or "techno", when you can have all?
Syncretism is her motto. In one she puts deep to acid, tech house to moody minimal techno. Fighting purism, combining styles, showing that one artist can have different faces and even being able to combine them without loosing credibility. Why? Because it’s fun. For the artist, for the dance floor. "Mixing is like cooking a new dish. There are always people, records and cool spices you can add..." As she crosses the bridge between house and techno smoothly her music is seductive and laid- back, syncretic and hypnotic. "Some people ask me where I get hold of all these records...The answer is... from everywhere! and anywhere possible! vinyl stores, second hand, through the Internet, flea markets... "  Comments[0]
