FOR INFORMATION ON BT’S STUDIO ROBBERY

One of the most influential and accomplished producers on this planet Brian Transeau AKA BT has had his studio burgled and the entire contents stolen by some unsavoury types. As you can imagine for a man whose life work is studio based this obviously came as a MASSIVE kick in the teeth.

As he prepares to deliver his fourth long player of his fourteen year career at the forefront of electronic music production titled ‘Emotional Technology’ on Dutch imprint Black Hole Recordings over $150,000 dollars of his current gear, for both recording and three different live shows has been stolen. With a lifetime’s worth of studio kit alongside previous albums, sound files and works in progress all gone BT has offered $20,000 US reward for any information that will lead to the recovery of much valued studio equipment.

He is offering the pay the amount or the equivalent time as a producer in exchange for the name and address of the perpetrators. Not for any form of retaliation but to implement an unorthodox approach in the hopes of actually recovering his music and equipment. BT is actively initiating a non-profit community project that aims to serve the music community in many ways:

Involving a simple subscription service for users to register and “Thumbprint” all of their gear with a photo log (unique markings) and serial numbers, so if something is stolen and sold (i.e on Ebay) it can be found and returned. More importantly this new initiative is the opportunities for up and coming new musicians to get involved:

The organisation plans on collecting all new, old, unused gear and software from musicians and manufacturers and donate these to musicians unable to afford the necessary gear to set up a studio. Also in the works are plans to set up workshop opportunities for new musicians to learn about the equipment on offer and the complex studio processes that go into making hi quality professional electronic music with the aim to open up possible work opportunities for new producers and musicians.

BT is currently on the search for a law firm willing to help him nail down all the legalities that this involves and companies / manufacturers that are willing to get involved with this initiative to help build a strong community that hopefully prevent this sort of thing happening in the future.

ogolnie to ktos sie wlamal do jego domu jak byl we wloszech, i wyniesli papiery wartosciowe, kase z klubu, i jakies tam personal belongings.

straty do odrobienia (nie to co studio w sumie), ale i tak lipa troche..
