Its been a while since you’ve made an appearance at any Polish clubs..

Yeah, its been a while I guess, I’ve been really concentrating on the production side of things, I started my label GPR (Greased Palms Records) last October, and anyone who has a label will tell you that it takes A LOT of work! I’ve been travelling over to the UK to meet up with some of my friends who are amazing producers to get their advice and to better my skills. These have been my main focuses for the last year.

‘Hypno – Got Bread’ is Track 6 on Disk 1 of Sander Kleinenberg’s new mix – seems like you’ve been working hard..

This was a real surprise for me, I sent out a small number of promotional emails telling people about this track. I originally was going to put it out on GPR, but I had an email one afternoon from Sander asking if it was signed and that he wanted it for his ‘This is…Sander Kleinenberg’ mix for Renaissance, so as you can imagine, I was over the moon and said yes of course!

The track has been signed to Sander‘s own label Little Mountain Recordings, a label that has had releases from artists such as Matthew Dekay, 16 Bit Lolitas and Max Graham..

Well, I don’t really see myself as among those kind of producers just yet, this is, you could say, a foot in the door, but now I really want to work even harder to better my sound and to get more releases and remixes out there, its such a crowded market and there are so many great producers and labels all fighting for position that you have to really excel in many areas to get noticed and have success.

So, how do you see the rest of 2007 as far as your musical career is concerned?

So far so good really, I‘m really pushing the label this summer, we’ve got 7 releases out so far and we’re now working with 3Beat management so we’re trying to break markets in many different countries. There will be a new release on GPR from me next month called ‘All Talk’, its very deep and groovy which is exactly how I like things, it’s had some really nice reactions from some really well known guys, so we’ll see.. I’ve finished a remix for ‘Earthlets’ by Williams & Fitch for Pop Pop, a really good label run by The Trophy Twins and one of my best mates in the whole world, Adam (Funkagenda) and I’ve got a few more coming out in the Autumn for some really solid labels so stay tuned!

Are you hanging up your headphones for good or will we see you around Poland again this year?

I wouldn’t say for good, but I would definitely say that probably for the rest of this year, I will only make a few appearances as far as Poland is concerned. I’ve been putting together my live show, which is something I’ve been talking about for the last 3 years and now I’m finally getting around to doing it. I‘m using Ableton Live with 2 controllers and I’ve also got a vocalist and a lot of material, so I‘m hoping to debut that around Christmas. A lot of the venues where I used to work have changed so much in the past 2 years that my enthusiasm for performing here is a little lower than it used to be! (laughs) I mean that a lot of my friends from Poland now live in the UK or other countries, I’m now happily married and I also have other business interests, so life has changed a lot for me recently. I love making music and performing live, but I needed to change my direction in some areas to make things more creative, it gives me a real buzz to play all my own material, plus there are other countries out there to be discovered so that’s where I‘m looking!

Hypno – ‘The Midnight Feast EP’ came out on Litte Mountain Recordings on August 13th.
Hypno – ‘All Talk’ is out on Greased Palms Recs on August 20th.
‘This is... Sander Kleinenberg’ is out now on Renaissace. Recordings
