...continuation of the article Sound Revolt: This year you’ve released a very good compilation, ‘Play 01‘ – how and how long did you prepare for it? Oliver Huntemann: I prepared for about two months. The challenge was to compress a three hour set into one hour without loosing the Huntemann characteristic of minimal intros over crunchy electro to deep techno climax. I wanted to create a mix which shows the essence of my art, so that the people can have the club feeling of my sets in their car, at home or on vacation - everywhere when I am not around. (laughs)
Sound Revolt: Are there plans for the next installments – are they going to be recorded by you in different places or are you going to ask other artists? Oliver Huntemann: The idea of the ‘Play!‘ series is indeed to present the best clubs in the world backed by my music and the noises of the crowd. The next compilation will be recorded in December at the famous Harry Klein Club in Munich
Sound Revolt: I heard an opinion that ‘Play! 01‘ is just a way to get money for recording a live set. How would you respond? Oliver Huntemann: Who invents such fantastic rumours? Must be somebody who has no clue about the current situation of the music industry. Fact is that I decided to launch Play! to give my fans the opportunity to be with me at the best clubs worldwide. They can take a look into my development and for the next part we are planning to fill the CD with more features so the people get a deeper look into the club and its people as well.
