Deepak Sharma sets up his own imprint

Published: August 17th, 2006

New York, NY -- DJ / Producer Deepak Sharma has announced the start of his record label, Hidden Recordings. The imprint has been set up as a platform for Deepak to release tracks with his production partner Dieter Krause from Germany. The first release is scheduled for late summer 2006 and is a three track EP, titled “Freundschaft”.

All the tracks on the EP and everything we’ll make in the future will reflect the sounds both Dieter and I like to concentrate on. They are subtle yet very powerful, and will rattle any club given the right sound system. We hope as the label grows with more releases scheduled, people will identify with our style and sound, says Deepak.

The tracks on “Freundschaft EP” are hard to define as they blend elements of minimal techno, tech house, deep techno, and house. We don’t want to be defined by a specific genre. We make music for all DJs and types of people but we concentrate on crafting tracks that make people think,, explains Deepak.

Eventually the duo would like to take their creativity to film and television. But for now, the focus is to build the label into a consistent outlet for good music. Hidden Recordings is dedicated to deep groovy vibes, abstract thoughts, psychedelic sounds, and weird noises.

Deepak released his first mix compilation, “Boogaloo. Brooklyn. 3:23pm” in late 2004 and garnered worldwide praise as he was reviewed in respected dance publications, “De:Bug”, “BPM Magazine”, “DJ Times”, “URB”, “Remix” and “Raveline”. Since that time, he has also DJed in the world’s best venues for the world’s best parties including including Crobar and Spirit in New York, Emerald City in Philadelphia, On Broadway in San Diego, Avalon in Los Angeles, Rise in Boston, Stereobar in Montreal, and in cities like San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, Washington D.C., Richmond and Buffalo. He has also hit the international circuit where he headlined the On Route Festival in Cordoba, Argentina, playing for 1,000 people and closed the night for John Acquaviva at Antwerp, Belgium's legendary Cafe-d-Anvers.

Besides setting up Hidden Recordings and being invited to DJ at some of the world's premium venues, he is one of a handful of DJs that continues to be invited to submit mixes to AOL Music where you can hear many of his sets.
