Renaissance is proud to announce a brand new digital only imprint, thoughtfully entitled Renaissance Digital. The label will be an outlet for more experimental material, be it from established leaders of the scene or up and coming producers – a forward thinking outlet for forward thinking people. Kicking off the series with a distinguished flourish is two of dance music’s biggest stars, Nic Fanciulli and Deep Dish’s Dubfire.
Nic’s ‘French Kiss’ homage, ‘Lucky Heather’, first appeared on Renaissance Recordings in late summer, having wowed clubbers in Ibiza and beyond, with genre-defying support coming from across the board, from Laurent Garnier to Pete Tong, Mylo, Sasha and more! Despite this support, it’s still a very happy day at Renaissance Towers when you get a call to tell you Dubfire’s been on the phone personally asking to remix the record, ‘Hang on, let us think about that for a moment…
The result is 13 minutes of scary-ass, techno mayhem that twists and turns, an intensive torrent of dance bliss that takes the record even further into the darkest recesses of peak-time. Dubfire himself elaborates, I've been a fan of Nic's sound for years and in particular, 'Lucky Heather's' hypnotic and driving nod to the old masters of House. It was one of my top tunes during this year's Ibiza season and I felt like, as good as the original was to me, I could kick it up a notch! Having spent more time than ever on the Island, soaking up the sounds of all of my favourite DJs/producers, I was bursting with ideas, so it was great to get back in the producer's chair again.
