Dubfire (aka Ali Shirazinia) - one half of the Grammy Award winning and four-time nominated electronic music duo Deep Dish - is pleased to announce the launch of his new digital label, Science + Technology Digital Audio [SCI + TEC]. The label will act as an exclusive outlet for Dubfire’s original productions and a home for up and coming artists from around the globe.

The launch of SCI + TEC comes at a time of immense change and artistic growth for Dubfire. As heard on his recent Taipei mix compilation for Global Underground, Dubfire has shifted his attention towards a mix of darker, deeper music that first inspired him while growing up in the Washington, DC area. The crown jewel of Taipei was Dubfire’s cover of Love & Rockets’ ‘I Feel Speed‘, a track that featured his own vocals and perfectly showcased his constantly evolving sound. It will be released as a single in November on SCI+TEC. Cutting-edge producers Audion [Matthew Dear], Booka Shade and UNKLE have been tapped to remix the track – these mixes will be available in December.

With Deep Dish, we are currently exploring our own creative paths. Since the music industry climate has changed, I though it was the right time to start a new digital-only label. I also needed an outlet to release my productions quickly and at a great value for the fans.

Some of the most respected and inspired DJs have been supporting Dubfire’s recent productions. His tracks ‘Roadkill‘ and ‘RibCage‘ are two of 2007’s most acclaimed releases and they’re helping to build a growing buzz all over the world on his new journey. ‘RibCage‘ is already being hailed a techno classic around the globe, notably in Germany where it garnered a #1 spot in Groove Magazine’s influential DJ Chart for an unprecedented two months in a row!

Long-time friend, legendary DJ/producer Richie Hawtin, has included Dubfire’s original track ‘Emissions‘ on the forthcoming M_nus compilation EXPANSION / contraction. Dubfire’s track sits alongside the work of respected underground artists including Marc Houle, Troy Pierce, and Hawtin’s own Plastikman guise, among others. Dubfire has also remixed the Plastikman classic ‘Spastik‘ for release on M_nus in 2008 and more recently, completed mixes for System 7 and UNKLE.

SCI + TEC will release music on a monthly basis with the goal of twelve releases per year. Forthcoming tracks include the aforementioned ‘I Feel Speed‘ as well as Dubfire + Simi’s nod to the Naples techno scene, ‘Angels Over Naples‘ featuring mixes from Davide Squillace, Rino Cerrone, Gaetano Parisio, Danilo Vigorito and more.
