Kaoru Inoue - The Secret Field

By official press release:

This is the Mule Musiq debut of Kaoru Inoue (aka Chari Chari), who been one of Japan’s most popular house dj’s and producers since the nineties, releasing on noted compilations such as ‘Bossa Tres Jazz (Yellow Productions) and remixing for artists as influential as Femi Kuti, Bebel Gilberto and OOIOO.

Ever diverse, recently his sound has incorporated elements of roots music and progressive rock into his balearic sound, perhaps taking inspiration from another of his projects; the guitar led ‘Aurora’.

The two originals on display here recall the sound of Can, Holger Czukay, Klaus Schulze and Manuel gottsching. ‘The Secret Field’ progresses boundlessly with harmonised guitar interplay, stabbed synth and illuminating soundscapes.
The follow up, ‘Mystic Motion’ is a far more relaxed journey, with tambora and
reflective strings highlighting a calm guitar passage.
Todd Terje’s remix of ‘The Secret Field’ on the flip side is a dreamy balearic tune, tailor made for floor euphoria.
