A modern electronic music imprint maintained and curated by Sian(Aus/Pokerflat/Karmarouge), Octopus has to date worked with artists of the calibre of Gui Borratto, 3Channels and Calculus.
Their fourth release welcomes French artist Herve AK, well known for his seasoned and delicate techno compositions. Resident DJ and artistic director of Lyon’s renowned DV1 club, Herve has to date released on everyone from K2/Kompact, Stirsound and Obsolete, picking up a reputation as the ‘Louis Vuitton of techno’ along the way. A side ‘Sorry But No’ (Rippertons D3 Remix) invites cultured Swiss artist Ripperton to reinvent Herve’s original. Opening with clattering percussion, live electronic signals coalesce into a melodic push, with euphoric pads and an off beat bass climb pushing the mix to the edge and beyond. On the B side, Herve’s original pulses and crackles with flickered percussion and patient melody. Ethereal pads slowly approach from a distance, enlivening the composition and agitating the dormant static into a frenzied climax.  Comments[0]
