Official press release:

King Unique are one of the most influential dance production/dj outfits of the past 10 years, and now the legends that are Matthew Roberts & Matt Thomas are back with their first killer new single of 2008 ‘Hinode’.

Matt Thomas explains what it’s all about...

“‘Hinode’ is a tribute and farewell to our favourite club, Yellow in Tokyo. We’ve played some great gigs there, six or seven hours in the dark with eight hundred people and one strobe light – perfection. Endless saki in the bar, obligatory stalkers (“93!” and “Hedgehog Girl” step forward please), smoke and heat on the dance floor; finally emerging deafened and sun blinded into the brilliance of Saturday mid-morning in Tokyo.”

Just like the club that inspired it ‘Hinode’ is all about the squirming, twisting techy bassline and heavy beats – until the sci-fi electronics and space-rock synths start pouring out of the speakers. Backing up the original is an exceptional remix from the boys favourite techno genius - Fergie. King Unique have been playing his ‘Anon’ track ever since Ferg slipped them a demo last year; since then there’s never been any doubt about who was going to remix ‘Hinode’. As Matt says... “The only surprise was that he’s given us easily his best track to date – cheers for that Ferg :)”
