Release: Thomas Schumacher - Pink Boots | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Official Press Release: It’s been a little while since Thomas Schumacher released his modern-classic “RedPurple” EP on his Spiel Zeug Schallplatten imprint, so it’s with open arms that we welcome his brand new “Pink Boots” release. It’s unlikely that Schumacher’s music hasn’t reached you in the past decade (and more), with his own productions, his Elektrochemie project for Get Physical or countless other remixes and collaborations. The music in question has always remained forward thinking, sexy techno for dancefloors and that is why the man is still at the top of his game. “Pink Boots” in original form is superb track which fuses old school tribal drums and the subtle effects and tweaks of minimalism with well placed synth swells to create a track which is both contemporary and old school. Think Sound Factory New York merging with Panorama Bar and you’re there, almost. Musique Risquée man Stephen Beaupré delivers the first remix, a typically off-kilter funk affair, with a slightly sinister vibe and some superb electronic touches that provides the perfect foil to the original. Next up is the every-consistent Skat who has created a tribal groove of the highest quality which is already seeing support from Craig Richards, Agnes and Konrad Black. Finally, mysterious newcomers Khord add subtle chords and melody to the vibe of the original, resulting in a deep, warm trip to round off a superb package.
