Official press release:

Unfokused is the brand new imprint from Parham Shafti, one of the most prominent dj/producers in Sweden and the man behind the much respected Fokused organisation.

The first release on this fledgling label comes from the hugely talented Jamie Stevens in the form of “We Can Hold On”. Known for his outstanding knob twiddling as part of Australia’s Infusion, Jamie has returned to his first love, techno, and this is evident in “We Can Hold On”.

The original mix kicks things off with synthesized beats bouncing around the mix erratically before a heavy bass groove locks the track down into a perfect, pulsing example of machine funk. Next up, Mario Zar of Viva Music drops the tempo a tad to create a snaking piece tech-funk which captures the concept of tension and release wonderfully.

Magnus Birgersson aka Solar Fields serves up another two mixes which really add to the package. The first “mix” gives a nod to Cologne’s techno behemoth, Kompakt with it’s epic melodies and intricate electronic percussion while the “downbeat” mix let’s the melody really breathe, resulting in a wonderful piece of home listening (or dj tool, for the adventurous out there).

Finally, Stevens puts his well heeled boot in with the sonically staggering “Held Too long” – a track which will please fans of Infusion as much as it will his techno contemporaries.

Track List

  • We Can Hold On
