After spending most of 2006 engineering Simple’s fine release schedule and lovingly coaxing into life his new baby Aus Music, Will Saul finally comes back at us with a new track just before the year is out. Since the release of his critically acclaimed album ‘Space Between’ on Simple in 2005, Will has been plying his wares on Systematic and Air and he’s just delivered storming remixes of Content on Simple and Chicken Lips. A highly skilled DJ, Will continues to play across Europe with regular Simple Sounds nights at The End and the first in Berlin at Watergate in November. In the coming months Will is headed back into the studio and 2007 will see the release of his Simple Sounds compilation and his second artist album. On Pause a rich, analogue lead line underpins the whole groove, slowly evolving, flitting between octaves and driving the track forward. At only 122bpm there is real feeling of space, allowing the carefully balanced drums and highly detailed percussive loops to add urgency and detail. Soulful yet haunting chords are worked into the arrangement, intertwining with the lead line to reach a sweaty, euphoric peak. Isolée deconstructs Wills chords, initially only using two from the full sequence, allowing him the musical freedom to switch effortlessly from lush melodic pads to acid laced stabs. Isolée’s unparalleled attention to detail creates a slow burning and truly hypnotic deep house groove that is as much for the head as it is for the feet. Isolée is Rajko Mueller, born in Frankfurt/Main and signed to the local Playhouse label. Rajko has created some of the most beautiful house music of recent years, including the 12” Beau Mot Plage, his remix of Recloose’s Cardiology and his superb album ‘Monster’ released last year. A CD collection of early Isolée tracks was released earlier this year accompanied by two12“ with edits by Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, The Glimmers and Dixon. His new 12” Willy Skipper is released in November. Words: official press release. Comments[0]
