Copenhagen has been one of the most creative electronic minimal nests of the last couple of years! People like Trentemoeller, Martinez or Hansen & Daniel, labels like Tic Tac Toe, 3dr floor or Echochord have been so productive, creative and successful that it basically put the Danish capital on the map! Theodor Zox is no exception and after a couple EPs on Morris-Audio, releases and remixes on his home labels Tic Tac Toe and 3rd floor he is now on the ramp to be the man with the groove!
Minimal yes... but funky even more!!! Rolling bass lines, driving chords and a great sense for arrangements, he is spoiling us with 3 amazing tracks!
Run away and System of play are 2 typical Zox cut! Sharp hi hats and fat snare sounds with some weird abstract synth lines and vocal samples, that just gives to the whole thing coherence and personality! 2 solid DJ tool to use with NO moderation!
Question suggestion on the B-side is for us a masterpiece! All Theodor musicality and also his ability to make people dance are in this track. It is deep and it has such of a strong character that it can be dropped at any moment and it will get you anyhow and... every-time! A great bass/ synth hook line with some oriental melodies... no clichés, just good shite!
