In front of me another release from a quite new Chris Fortier’s label, FDS Recordings, which has been pressing in vinyl musical ideas of the label owner himself and Steve Porter. Now both men have prepared together two remixes of a classic tune dated 1990, D-Shake – “Yaaah!” The history of these productions begins from a re-edit of a techno hit of the 90’s, done by Chris Fortier for use in his own sets. The track has received such a big response from the crowd that Chris, together with Steve Porter, decided to go deeper in the remix works and finally to release it. In effect there are two remixes bearing a huge load of energy! I can easily notice here the sounds of techno raves’ beginnings and also the more melodic present time. First of the remixes is much more danceable, only by the matter of a pretty cheerful bassline. However another one represents exactly what I like, which means it’s simple and powerful. Beware: in both remixes the breakdowns kill! I believe Fortier was a first ambitious of the global dance scene, who noticed talent of young then Porter. I will take a risk to claim, that those four demo tracks from Steve pushed Fortier him to reactivate Fade Records in 1999. Now they have been pushing the music world forward together.
