It seems that Segment is doing really well as such frequent releases is something impossible to achieve for a big amount of young labels. The fourth vinyl in their catalogue holds tracks by Nick Hook and the company’s owner Matt Black. The first one is known for his productions on Whoop! and Distinct’ive Breaks and Matt introduced himself to Poland during three gigs in three different cities.

The A1 side is probably a Segment’s owner anti-manifesto. “Get up, go to work, come home, go to sleep” is a sinister mantra spoken throughout the whole track. Being your own boss has many advantages and the same goes to the piece by Hook & Black. Nice bass, lively percussion and perfectly laid synths make this tune a very deep and pleasant grower.

“Fingers To The Bone” is quite similar but much more spacey. Sounds come from every corner and there’s constantly something going on. I’m not sure about the first half of the track but the second one will definitely get your attention on a dancefloor. Attention should also accompany “Zero Hours” - Segment’s next release by Ozgur Can due to be out in mid December.
