Subsky - one of the most established Turkish producers alongside Yunus Guvenen and Muzo B is breaking fresh ground in progressive\trance style in a very confident way. The track „Four Days” released by Sadie Records at the end of 2001 was a very important step in his carrer, but it was the placing of „Strawberry Fields” on Nick Warren’s „Global Undergroud 024 – Reykjavik” that made him really advance to a new level.

The track was released by the Canadian “Release Records” together with another remix of the record company resident and prog\trance scene giant – Max Graham, know from works like „Sepia”, „Dying To Survive”, or classic „Bar None” and „Tell You”. Max serves us yet another high-octane killer with a tremendously powerful rhythm section tucked into melancholic keyboard sound. Despite that the overall quality of Graham’s remix has to be rated very low. After his last unsuccessful remix „Cultivate – Broken Pieces” – released for Lost Language - he is still oscillating among the same samples, not only taking away the freshness and novelty of the songs, but also introducing some kind of rubbish and distorted style, which he is famous of.

Graham’s version consists of an already know theme from the Original Mix, which has been enriched by a heavy bassline braided into galloping percussion. The beautiful melody added in the middle of the track, being a background for melodic elements of original version is unfortunately fading away in the following minutes. Instead of that Graham is repeating the sequence from the first four minutes. The song is generally a good dancefloor hit, but doesn’t add anything new to the already established sound and style of the producer.

Of course the Original Mix is a beautiful melodic sequence, tucked into perfectly pulsing bassline and percussion and filled with drifting synths, that allow to fly away in certain moments and to reach the distant heights marked by soothing sounds. „Strawberry Fields” is certainly an important song, but you got to treat this release as a reminder of a pretty exploited track.
