- Love & Imitation (Original Mix)

To continue with smashing singles I reach for another item from Australian Infusion. Apart from the band’s name, there is a few other features combining this release with the one reviewed by me last week. We deal here with the same label, which is Polaroid Recordings, and also with the same record title, which is “Better World”. On the A side I’m coming up against Adam Freeland’s remix of the title song. I’m putting the stylus with a dose of anxiety, only because Adam’s works on the field of producing have not met my full respect. Fortunately, instead of taking us for a pop ride, he’s serving an appetizing potion of modern dance breakbeat. Though the best I find on the flip side of the record, and it’s the track called “Love & Imitation”. This piece, yet untitled, was the closing one on the amazing Essential Mix by Infusion. How different is this track from everything they have done before, and at the same time how characteristic it is! Simple, strong beat, sharp, half-guitar riffs and incredibly mysterious melody of synths are the leading features of this composition. I don’t take everything with a label “Infusion” on it, because some of their productions simply don’t meet my insolent taste. However, this one has smashed my senses deeply.
