Kolo - Track One (Stereounderground Remixes)

Stereounderground is a trio from Orlando performing in the following lineup: Beaumont Stanford, Jeffrey Organes and Villo Galvan. The third one is a well known guy in the producers environment, as he started Balance Promote Group. In the beginning of their career together they set to work Neil’s Kolo debut, who’s known from at least Fade.

A leading melody of the both remixes create heavily destorted sounds, like from an out of tune keys instrument. Of course there’s no need and possibility to tune a keyboard, so you may easier associate it to a little boy playing the guitar without touching the neck. Also not a good comparison, because without toching the neck, chords cannot be changed... Neverthleless, there’s something in the melody which doesn’t stick, it’s immensely attracting attention though.

Both remixes sound extremely underground. First one is a regular - at least in the beat layer - dance composition with an always working “buzzer” on top. The other one is a kind of dirty breaker kept in convention of the modern breakbeat. Both I enjoy to hear and to dance.

In order to this release I promise myself to check out full length album from Stereounderground, “Human Condition”, which is going to be out soon under Purple Star Records. I encourage you to do the same, at least for some uncommon electronic music. Like e.g. these two tracks.
