It looks like our Polish friend from Sweden has found a vent to his tech house dub fascinations and that he’s going to use it for a longer period of time. Is that bad or not? For Jeff, yes, it’s good, because no other record label would agree to release so many almost identical tracks, even within the space of 10 years. Good for him that he owns Kung Fu Dub label. “Designated” in the original version is that kind of a track, which pays attention of an every music “lover”, who shakes hips or whistles when shaving, listening to his favorite morning radio broadcast. A solid production without anything new though. Let’s check out the remixes. Argentina remains in a closer scope of my interest right now, mostly because of Cattaneo and MOS, so I’m switching to “Lega Remix” eagerly. This one is a bit more faster, more regular and also even more dancey. However, the producer’s approach was far too conservative to create something outstanding. The same Bennett like patents. The last one is called “Acid Remix” but I can’t find any acid inside there. The track is just another variation on the original, with a 4/4 beat layer. Boredom. Lively boredom. I’m of the opinion that constant copying himself will lead Jeff Bennett to nowhere. Comparing e.g. “Which Is What” to “Designated”, it cannot remain unnoticed that Jeff has been using the same notes and schemes for few months now. In the name of God, stop!
