Various - Silver Planet's 50th Release (Part 2)

Finally... Silver Planet has kept us waiting for the second part of the anniversary release for quite a few months. Why such a delay – I don’t know. But it’s good the record is finally out.

On the A side there’s a remix of infamous “Chimera” produced by Aidan Lavelle. I’ve never been a fan of the original version, but the thing Aidan did to this track makes me sick. A nasty copy of the biggest track from Laurent Garnier (shall I mention the title?) mixed up with the gibbering vocal from “In Deep” makes a really “can’t stand it” composition.

I quickly skip to the flip side hoping that our pets from Grayarea managed to save this release from downfall. Here I meet galloping and heavily broke drums, which together with various snaps, shouts and cries make the background for the trance theme from the original. The track works good but won’t kill anyone though.

If you collect records, you need to have this one too, as it’s an anniversary one. If you’re a fan of the sound of Grayarea, then you’ve got just one more reason. Nothing more.
