Cassino & Labén - Leaving Panic Behind

Cassino & Labén – an Italian duo of DJs and producers is regaling us at the very moment (thanks to the brand new French label Babylon Records and The Flash Brothers as remixers) with their first original production ever – “Leaving Panic Behind”.

“Original Mix” is a 10-minutes long, vast and a bit doleful hymn partitioned in two with a substantial breakdown. Although, this track was built with a use of strong, harsh sounds and mostly clear, distinct beat, the whole piece sounds rather monotonous and lifeless. But even despite all that wearisomeness, I still cannot say that the track is a bouncing trance neither that it is an energy-stimulating progressive work. In fact, what you experience listening is a lot of “progressive waving” one might consider calming or, more likely, boring.

As we talk about the track’s structure, The Flash Brothers interpretation doesn’t really differ from the original. We can easily see the same “layout” throughout the whole composition. Therefore it makes me even more astonished how the hell it happened that those three brothers managed to breathe new life into Cassino & Labén’s work without any shake-out. Apart from musical correctness of the “Original Mix”, the “Flash Brothers Remix” is what the original work is not, for the Israeli trio truly fitted the track with tons of energy, melody and progressive vibe. And this is it!

„Leaving Panic Behind” is a nice debut. Thanks to the “Original Mix” it’s decent and proper. And thanks to The Flash Brothers is even more than that.
