Blue Room Project - Liquid Motion

It’s quite odd that this is my first review of Blue Room Project, as I’ve been watching the duo’s ventures for almost two years. Ever since I fell in love with “Dirty Radio”, those warm and dreamy rhythms by Jeff Belfi and Shane Ehlers had a secure place in my speakers.

“Liquid Motion” is a classic Blue Room Project sound with such trademarks as the matt beat and smooth melodies. Some will listen to this mellow progressive in an armchair at home, others may discover the soporific values of it. In both ways the tune works great.

The flip brings a breakbeat remix from a quite fresh Canadian on the scene – Damien Heck – who did what was he supposed to. Distorted flying guitar and trance alike synths transformed the slightly drowsy original into a dancefloor friendly piece.

Both sides are nice but not breathtaking, which actually applies to the most of Blue Room Project’s works. More than good, less than very good.
