Tarkan is one of the most recognizable Turkish DIs, who has recently tried his hand in production. His compatriot Mert Medeni has been asked for co-operation on this track, and the remix duties has been given to yet another Mediterranean rising star, Vasilis Sagonas.
“On the Way” is a more energetic version of James Holden’s “Solstice”. I’ve been always against copying others’ ideas, but my feeling is that it’s not been done on purpose. Let me also admit, that energy that the track bears, shades the lack of originality.
V-Sag’s remix is even closer to perfection. Vasilis has twisted the track’s line so skilfully, that I felt like being in a different, better world for few minutes. To hell with the “Solstice” theme – the remix is outstanding!
In both versions I’ve been positively surprised by vigorousness. This is not the Eastern progressive we know from the last year releases. Let their music follow that direction.
