Adam Beyer - Fabric 22

Adam Beyer, a 29 years old DJ and producer from Sweden, is probably a well-known figure to an every techno music lover. His name trademarks a few dozen original productions and remixes, together with four officially released compilations. Undoubtedly, the most important one will be 22nd Fabric’s scene, being just reviewed by me.

The album has been built in a quite specific way, especially in regard to a techno set. After light and singing beginning, Beyer immediately takes a frontal attack with minimal, sharp blend of tracks from massacrers like Joel Mull, 2 Dollar Egg, or even the author himself. The following pieces are mixed up with the average frequency of 3.5 minutes; it’s almost imperceptible to a listener though. But as the time go, it’s easy to notice the mood change, as the mix becomes more and more mild, not to say melodic. During “Panic Voice” a deeper breath can be taken, and finishing “Redemption” and “She’s the One” are even considered to be a progressive… techno.

To me the album is a continuation of the journey started by Chris Fortier on his “Balance 007” compilation. Thereby I encourage fans of tech and progressive to buy “Fabric”, and techno lovers to try “Balance” as well.
