This is the first time we host a review of Acute Recordings release, the label has been on the market for almost three years now though. After the last, musically quite heavy records from Habersham and Smight, they now open the year with a progressive trance item.

The author is 29 years old Japanese producer Daisuke Yamagishi, releasing under OMB alias. I had a pleasure of reviewing his “Code 5” track on the occasion of the Secret Planet release (see related links).

In “Flying Over Tokyo” Daisuke proves the stratum of powerful energy and ability to fly. The track is a combination of trace tempo and progressive melodic layers, known e.g. from Benz & MD’s accomplishments. The product fresh enough to be listened with pleasure.

“Ant Model” is much less loaded with melodies. Here rules the atmosphere of slight psychedelia, being crossed by distorted vocals and FX sound effects. Something like a modern goa.

Looks like they like it pretty fast in Japan, I’m probably too general on that topic though. Anyway, musically OMB drives the correct direction.
