PQM Project, after Luke Chable, invites yet another Australian for collaboration, Phil K. To be accurate, it wasn’t “after”, but “before”, as the original version is at least two years old. This is at the same time the second release from Institution Recordings.
The A-side is one of the most original compositions in the dance music genre. PQM sounding bass line plays its four notes from the beginning to the end, and accompanied by kettledrums and castanets enriched percussion builds a very tough background of the track. The string parts, blues guitar attacks and analogue vocal samples dated somewhere in the 70s are even stronger. It sounds like early Led Zeppelin, but I’m not an expert on that field.
Habersham and Relisys, have traditionally decided to twist the musical layers of the remix, having concentrated on a heavy electronic percussion and a thundering bassline. On this background frequently grows up distorted up to the highest level vocal a la Robert Plant. The mortal fear atmosphere is additionally being strengthened by growing out of the background haunting voices and samples. A very strong thing.
