Sasha’s “Airdrawndagger” and “Xpander EP”, BT’s “Movement In Still Life”, Freeland’s “Now and Them” and “Phone Booth” OST – what do these have in common? Andy Page lend his producing and programming skills to all of them. This talented and experienced artist decided to leave the shadows some time ago and build a brand of his own – co-operating with Marscruiser, Phil K or – as we have here – working solo. “Serpent” is a story from the borderland between progressive trance and breakbeat, where a broken rhythm is accompanied by a driving bassline. I intentionally used the word “story”, because the turning points and the element of surprise forbade me to put this production on one shelve with predictable pulp. Something for both - guitar solo and Australian twisted breaks fans. Surprise also awaits on the flip in the form of a beautiful downtempo. In “Blue Noise” you can hear that Andy worked on “Airdrawndagger” and that he hasn’t been loafing about since then. Nice guitar, huge bass and a pinch of Björk from the “All Is Full Of Love” days – great piece! Surely not the last one from Page. Comments[0]
