BCML (Ben Camp and Mat Leutwyler) have stolen my heart recording their first promo mix. Their first EP on Secret Planet cannot really be deemed as a full success though. Let’s see how’s the new one. „Mr. Horowitz” holds all features of a dancefloor killer. Rather original, but catchy melodies are boiling here together between numerous breakdowns. That’s accompanied by impeccably diversified drums, galloping bassline and Holden-like dust sucker noise. Very nice! Nick Warren has probably come to like the track very much, as he managed to produce a remix under the Way Out West brand. To me Nick and Jody are embodiments of the musical genius and the masters of arrangements. The effect of their work is a growing with every second 4x4, ended up with a storming final. Top tune! „More” is a minimal and techy story about an alarm clock and the glockenspiel. And again amazing percussion beats together with variety of themes coming finally to a one, solid shape deserve a decent mention. Additionally it sounds rather scary! „Trubbel” is my favorite track from the EP. If you’re good at clattering the table with your fingers, try to face the beat of this one. The very rhythmic piece, enriched with acid keyboard sounds and the scenic background. The beautiful, emotionally loaded composition. Summing up, there’s no weak point in this release. Bravo!
