My recent days have been going by with the new American electro sounds delivered to British Silver Planet by Americans. Ben Camp doesn’t loaf. He’s been recording both alone and together with Leutwyler. Within few weeks he releases an artist album, and the single’s task is to promote it.
I’m not going to hide a fact the „A” side is so much miserable. „Twister” is copying already used to death sounds and patterns, that probably were to guarantee this release’s big success. The only unique thing is a keyboard solo at the end, it’s far not enough to rate it as a successful work though.
Fortunately „I H8 Music In the Morning” sounds completely different. Overdriven and filtered drums work perfectly together with a heavy hard-core part played on equally wheezing notes. The whole lot has been varied with a few smartly arranged “guitar” parts, which all in all gives a super energetic dose of a (morning?) pleasure.
The “B” side of the single still announces a good album. Let’s wait.
