When 24th Fabirc entered my CD player, we were sitting in a mixed (I mean of course our musical tastes) company, preparing our bodies and souls to a party with Vaeth and Tiefschwarz. After the very few moments of listening everybody’s face was asking “What the f… is that?!”. “Shall I change? – I asked”. “No!” This electrifying impression has been made by an opening Balkan melody, calling immediately Goran Bregovic’s name. There are even more catches. Spasmodic “Spastik”, rocky “Hounds of Love” and “Walk In the Dark” together with a mix of The Doors and The Clash in a form of “Single Again” are the most surprising moments on the record. Rob has also found place for afropop, dead already artist Pepe Kalle, whose “Rodger Miller” ends up the out-of-electronica journey. Let’s get back to it though. What we’ve got here is a cult yet “Lovefood” from Meyer, genial and being played almost everywhere “The Sky Was Pink” remix from Holden. Also splashing “Dinamo” by Fake and electro-trance “Heizkissen” from Amanda. I don’t like the closing part though. For me, the two last tracks should not have been there, and for sure there’s too much of overproduced “Your Love”. Nonetheless, I like the idea of putting so many different styles together. Both the idea and the workmanship, as the album runs very smooth. This is so far the best Ableton-made compilation, but the ending proves that when working with that software it’s easy to forget about music, while being focused on show-offish gambits. Nevertheless I recommend the album to all of you.
