Funk Harmony Park - Planet P

Funk Harmony Park is a true band. The Icelanders started performing as a trip hop duo, then trio. After Mr. Minute had joined Roofuz, Protokol and Elvis2, they changed the style and moved their music to the club dance regions. Their first EP “Essence” was released in 2003 to win second best album award in Iceland.

“Planet P” is quite calm, albeit a dance composition. First of all, one can easily notice live bass and true funk guitar parts, which undoubtedly give a special taste to the track. Cosmic synthesizers and electronic percussion form quite a successful marriage together with the analogue guitar sound.

Steve Porter has first and foremost changed percussion beat and additionally powered the number with his low-sounded bass and a few new melodies, including the “guitar” solo. Energetic and crowded Porter’s remix will more took a liking to house and progressive DJs for sure.

“Bedtime Mix” is a slightly torn composition with a clear, simple beat, additionally amplified with techy hats. The main keyboard theme leads the track to the more calm waters, which makes it an alternative for the original version.

Judging from a non-stop-dancer point of view, Steve Porter’s remix is the best tune of all the three.
