Natalia Data is a globetrotter hailing from Russia, currently residing in England and making her debut on Slacker’s label. The promo CD includes 6 versions of “The V.I.P.” and an acapella but only 4 of them made it to the vinyl. We start of with a work by the lady herself, i.e. “Cut The Bitchin Mix” – a heavily twisted, acid production filled with Natalia’s spoken vocal. Not to dancey but the amount of strange sounds makes listening pleasant. However, the biggest listening pleasure comes from the most famous fellow countrymen of the artist - Anton Kubikov and Maxim Milutenko. SCSI-9 threw out most of the vocal and gave the whole a chilled and melodious feel. Another duo, known well to the fans of Cuba and Minimal Records went for the tech tribal sound with an acid touch. Raw, torn beat comes together with high note synths and makes a good impression even though gets you dance a bit timidly. Walter Ercolino from Solar Plexus decided to bang the drum and his remix is definitely the biggest tune when it comes to dancefloor. Not only “Vox” does destroy the listener with a wall of sound but also surprises with great turns of the action. I’m not a fan of wordy tracks, but original solutions on “The V.I.Ps” make it up for me. Comments[0]
