Nic Fanciulli - Squirreled EP

Nic Fanciulli is one of my favourite DJs and remixers so I have been very impatiently awaiting the moment at which he finally carries out his promise to concentrate on his own productions. “Squirreled” EP issued on the Renaissance label, is a reflection of what he has been able to achieve while developing his unique style.

EP consists of two productions by Nic, one of which, titled “Squirreled” was prepared exclusively for his latest album on Renaissance. The track is composed of fantastic riffs and subtle electro sounds, with a very nice acidy aftertaste - something for which Nic’s style is well known. Captivating from the beginning to the end.

“You Snooze You Loose” goes towards darker and deeper tech house. Acidy basslines are mixed with new and new sounds, all culminating in the outburst of tweaky rhythm, which virtually forces me to move. Its tech edge is then softened by melodic pads, only to leave me vulnerable and exposed to a new wave of the fascinating rhythm.

It has really paid to wait for Nic’s EP. Definitely to be recommended!
