Dominik Eulberg’s biography seems to be quite a typical story of a musically talented boy. He started playing at the age of 15, to finally see his first album “Flora & Fauna” on 3rd and 5th places of German recaps of 2004. He was also nominated for the German Music Awards in the categories “Best Remix” and “Best Newcomer”. I think this year will see his name even higher. “Kreucht & Fleucht” is an old German language description of all the insects and worms, which continuously crawl somewhere there in the grass and also here under the floor. And I believe it would be hard to imagine a better title. In particular I mean the first record, which is a compilation of minimally melodic, but richly decorated by various sounds of chirping, knocking and rustling, songs. But not only, as CD1 means also great vocals, built up on the ubiquitous minimalism. The second record is much more hit (have I really used that word?), so maybe it’s good to give at least a few titles. There’s worth reminding “Libertango”, yet famous “Pele Bloss”, a new “Tonetraeger” remix and the cheerful „Ihre Persönliche Glücksmelodie”. A good compilation made of very good tracks from the border of Germany and… Border Community. Dominik is certainly numbered among the best German export products, but it looks like he doesn’t yet deserve proper promotion outside the country. Well, he doesn’t even own an English version of his home site... I’m slowly getting used to the German approach, however it still surprises me a lot.
