Global Communication - Fabric 26

Tom Middleton and Mark Pritchard already met in 1991. They started as a trio working together with Richard James (Aphex Twin) to finally activate their own projects: Global Communication and Jedi Knights. Their solo careers have also been running well – after the last Middleton’s gigs in Poland the clubgoers were literally marveled.

26th Fabric has fortunately been located far from boiling dancefloors and thanks to that the listener can be getting into it for hours, and one by one will be more pleasant. However, the first journey into this album produces quite different feelings, as a mixture of downtempo, breakbeat and deep house with hip hop is not something we’ve been dealing with each day. The gentlemen have however taken appropriate care of the smooth run of the compilation and also have shrewdly spread the accents focusing the first listener’s immediate attention and making him reply more and more. That little stars are “Sunshine Fu*k Part”, “Rumours” and “Robots”. Thanks to such structure, only after a few listenings we’re able to fully enjoy electronic music lined with jazz, soul and funk.

“Fabric 26” is a worth having record. It travels boldly beyond boundaries of what’s currently being played, at the same time retaining good taste and giving a pleasure of listening. Great and promising year not only for Fabric and Global Communication but also for their fans has just begun.
