The co-founder of Lowriders and Gangsta Audio, Nick Kazemian, releases on Shinichi this time. Here’s what the Iranian Dutchman brought the Americans.
On “Hardknob Tribe” heavy drums are contrasted with an electronic imitation of violins – nothing special. “Space Dough” is better mainly thanks to good trumpets laid on a soft beat. In “Citadella”, the melodies are also on a decent level, but they are slightly marred by a very simple electric bassline. A humming bassline is the main drive in “Undefined”, where the dark background goes well with the trancey synths.
Summing up – good and solid productions for many occasions. However, they are all a bit too long, which makes it hard to imagine playing them from start to finish. But this seems to be the label’s peculiarity.
