When I look at my adventure with electronic music, I can see that despite all the changes in taste and preferences there is one group I’ve been faithful to for the longest amount of time – Hybrid. Their characteristic sound has been evoking only positive emotions for almost 7 years now, but wouldn’t it be a good time to think about putting some freshness to it?
The latest album is the evident sister of previous CDs, which were milestones in the history of breakbeat. However, I’m not thinking about the three year old “Morning Sci-Fi”, because it carryied an excessive dose of catchyness. When it comes to this criterion, “I Choose Noise” goes back to the days of glory by not including too many easily accessible tracks. Obviously, the CD is trademarked with incredible melodies played with huge amounts of instruments with the domination of strings, but it’s far from crossing the border after which hit and quickly disposable music begins.
So, thanks for making up for the bitter taste after “Morning Sci-Fi” but I beg for a little revolution, because in another three years from now, the Hybrid formula may become a painful experience.
