Martinez, a Swede living in Denmark, effectively gathered attention after a very successful compilation released earlier this year for Audiomatique. That one gave me the appetite to reach out for his new CD, this time compiled for his own label, Out of Orbit.
The pleasure continues. The new record from Martinez is less techy, more musical and perfectly arranged. The artist has very skilfully melted older items from the label’s catalogue with some tasty freshness delivered by Babicz, Trentemoeller and Martinez himself, among others. The record is filled with dynamic, sometimes slightly darker house and some elements of progressive and tech. As far as the workshop is concerned, it’s a masterpiece mixed entirely using Ableton Live software.
Having produced the record, Martinez has climbed the summit of technical perfection and good musical taste. Magnificent work, highly recommendable.
