It’s been more than a year since Satoshie Tomiie’s triple compilation ‘3D’ was released, so the moment to return with a new album is actually just right. The label remains the same but the “Masters Series” is already a well-known brand thanks to amazing records delivered by Dave Seaman, Deep Dish and Hernan Cattaneo. Satoshi has fortunately risen to the occasion. He’s made a unique album and you can tell from its very first bars that it will turn out to be something special . The first CD musically refers to the style of Danny Howells, so what dominates here is warm and sunny deep house with some accents of funky and progressive. The leading roles are played by productions from Ripperton, King Roc and the great final three. The second CD is techier, more energetic and dancefloor oriented, but definitely not trivial. The best tracks that confirm this are the fabulous remixes of ‘I Need’ and ‘It’s Your Time’, together with the last three numbers on the album. Satoshi Tomiie has skilfully hit the bulls-eye of my musical inclinations so if you share them, even to the smallest degree, then you won’t have any problems with coming to like this record.
