After the excellent Chris Salt’s „Dub Sonar” and „Distorted Reality” Silver Planet strikes again with two powerful tracks by another youngster – Ben Camp. This American artist has already had some acclaimed releases such as “Timewreck” and “Peyote Dub”. However if I were to choose my favourite tune from his short career, “Syndrome” would be the name. It’s probably not the freshest track as Noel Sanger included it on his “Summerbreeze 2” compilation in 2002 but it definitely is a stormer. A pulsating bass and trancey dynamics make the track extremely driving and the sounds of steel with sinister samples give the whole a mysterious darkness. “Dancing In The Dark” would be a very appropriate title. Loftiness arrives with a broken breakdown and its choir, which stays with the track almost till its very end. That’s the way I like it. The flip only partially reflects the murk that lies behind its title. “Burial Ground” is a Moshic alike musical interpretation of human fear where strong and harsh tribal beats are accompanied by screams and samples from horror movies. People with week nerves - please leave the dancefloor. Both “Syndrome” and “Burial Ground” show that Silver Planet has a great taste in choosing their releases. Monstrous floorfillers at your service. Comments[0]
