Finally a tangible proof of the existence of James talk – an artist that I have been a fan of for quite a long time. While the long awaited “Eggs Are Cute” is being released in August another bit of music makes his debut. “Beef Curtains” is a full on melodic and cheerful production that will surely make many dancefloors moving. Two lines of dulcimers based on a powerful beat with clear hats and a lawnmower bass should work really well this summer. The flip is opened by the only artist on this vinyl that haven’t been headlining on Sound Revolt parties – Tim Fretwell. As anticipated it’s a breakbeat track very characteristic for its creator. Tim’s style is something like a tsunami and his interpretation of “Beef Curtains” surprises with composition and crushes with the power of sound. The release is fulfilled with a beatless version courtesy of another friend of ours – Dave Robertson. He based it on those breathing synths and placed the whole in the middle of some jungle. Ready made intro. “Beef Curtains” is a debut of James Talk and the second release of quite a new label called Segment Records. I hope their careers will be as good as their beginnings. Comments[0]
