Here’s yet another, the second vinyl continuing a very mysterious series of the Secret Planet – a sub label of the British Silver Planet label. You will not be able to find neither authors nor the productions’ titles anywhere on the vinyl, and also I can’t give this secret away. You already know the trick – buy the compilation CD.
On the X side there is a combination of at least two worlds. After two minutes of a very mild introduction, a melody played by Chinese instruments (which I simply can’t call) puts me in an Asian mood. This Eastern idyll accidentally interrupts an attack of the drums, which make me think of the Grayarea, but also very effectively make my body move. A very energetic and rich in valuable arrangements pill.
The track on the Y side remembers me the sounds of 8-bits computers like ZX Spectrum or Atari. Since then I always see a little yellow Pac-Man moving very fast on the colourful platforms. But seriously, we deal here with a very lofty production, which could easily replace a hymn. When played a bit slower, of course.
I give 4.5, because in my opinion, the first single was somehow better, mostly because of the simply brilliant X side. This doesn’t change the fact, that the release number 002 finds its place among other records from the highest shelf.
